Waffle Baby Blanket

Oh this was an absolute dream to make and really quick to work up as well.

Didn’t have much of a brief when this one was requested other than pale pink, cream, beige boho feel.

Ordered some Emu yarn from The Knitting Network and looked through my endless patterns. As I’ve never done waffle stitch before I thought I’d give it a go.

So glad I did it’s turned out better than I’d hoped it would.

Didn’t realise that the waffle pulls the piece in though if I had I would’ve carried on in length but it does stretch loads and is perfect for pram, carry cot etc.

Soooo soft and squishy and ready for the new arrival to the world. Pattern by Sirins Crochet.

Changing Tides x 2

After recently adding a new puppy to my collection of schnauzers and posting numerous pictures on line of him. My changing tides blanket by coastal crochet got spotted and requested to be made.

Jumping at the chance to make this beautiful blanket again I reached for my laptop and ordered the yarn. Same colour palette but different shades.

I love how these colours pop on this blanket, I didn’t want to hand it over when it was time too.

It will certainly keep its new owner warm over the coming cold months ahead plus add some much needed beach and sea colours for that vitamin D injection.

Jack & Zero

You may remember me making Jack this time last year? I made him for a friend who unfortunately passed away before I could gift him to her.

Well someone saw him on a post and asked if I could make him and his ghost dog Zero. So I quickly fashioned something to resemble Zero, frogged it changed it and ended up with this which I don’t think turned out too bad.

I do love Jack

Stitch

Pattern from 1upcrochet.com

I got asked to make this little guy back in early summer so I searched for a pattern and found this cute one.

Hardest part was the felt eyes and ear inserts. So wish I’d learned felting at this point (ha ha).

So cute though isn’t he ?

Yet another Baby Panda

Hello everyone, apologies I’ve been very quiet of late but I have been busy crocheting so about to spam you from makes over the summer. New full time job and puppy have taken over a bit so I fell behind on my blogs.

I completed another Baby Pandemonium Blanket from all thinks crochet I do love this pattern as you know from previous blogs.

I kept this one simple in the colours of now, grey and white, sparkly baby yarn from BnM and it’s beautiful in just the two colours.

This was an order that I could never get back hold of once it was complete, isn’t that the most annoying thing? Oh well someone’s loss is someone’s gain.

Hope you like it in the two colours.

Two little Unicorns

These two little beauties have been the hardest make ever. I don’t mean in complexity because they’re quite easy I mean trying to do them under traumatic circumstances.

At the beginning of May my dad was rushed into hospital with respiratory failure and it was touch and go for a while

Crochet is my go to to clear my head space and helps me deals with things. Not this time. I just couldn’t do it. I kept looking at the body parts lay in a basket and just didn’t know where to start.

Anyway as you can see I made a start and look at them aren’t they the cutest? My remit was a bright one and a light pink one. Think I nailed that????

Look at those little spiral tails love them x

Take care everyone and I’ll be back soon I have a huge project planned and can’t wait to start it.

PS dads home and on the mend in case you were wondering.

Have a lovely week everyone, thanks for reading

Picnic on the Beach Blanket

Hello all, I bet you’re wondering where I’ve been? Well weeks 7&8 took me quite a while to complete, as you’ll see it’s huge, and I’ve been quite busy with other things recently so been unable to spend as much time on it as I would’ve liked too.

I can’t believe it’s done, those rounds for the border felt like I was never going to finish, but last night I did.

What do you think?

Of course I couldn’t take any decent pictures without the schnauzers getting in on the act. I have a feeling they will be using it more than me. I cannot wait to go camping and fight them for it.

Thank you Eleonora at Coastal Crochet for this amazing pattern and sharing it with the world. There have been so many people crocheting along together on it this year from all around the world with some amazing colours in some fantastic settings.

What a wonderful journey out of lockdown.

Take care everyone, see you all soon and thank you for reading.

Picnic on the Beach Blanket – Week 6

Good morning everyone, I hope you all had a lovely long Easter break? Who ate their body weight in chocolate? Or drank way more than they should’ve?

I spent mine decorating, garden tidying and week 6 of my blanket was completed yesterday. Back to work for me tomorrow so I plan to relax and not do much today to mentally prepare ha ha.

This week we added more to the side panels and it was all about the hearts and sunsets. Look at those sunsets I loved making them and they look amazing.

I don’t think there are many weeks left now it’s gone so quickly, but I can’t wait to see what this weeks instalment will be. Roll on Friday.

It’s a short week for most here in the UK this week so enjoy it whatever you’re doing, thanks for reading.

Easter Lap Blanket

Good morning I hope you’re having a great long weekend so far?
At early hours this morning I finally finished my Easter Lap Blanket, just in time, couldn’t finish a Easter blanket after the event had gone could I?
What do you think?

I love the colours and the textures of the different stitches together. The kit was from The Knitting Network using my favourite Style craft special DK yarn and the pattern was a women’s weekly one.

It was hard going and took a while, especially that border, 11 rounds PHEW, I never thought I would finish it.

Thank you for reading and enjoy the rest of the weekend and don’t eat too much chocolate ha ha.

Picnic on the Beach Blanket – Week 5

Evening everyone, are you all well? It’s been absolutely beautiful the last few days with record breaking temperatures here in the UK. Perfect weather for this blanket.

As predicted it was back to the Tunisian gingham squares x four this week to fill in those corners. I struggled to get them big enough gotta be honest. Several attempts with increasing hook sizes to get there eventually.

I did need to stretch them to make them fit the blanket but I managed and think they look ok. Put it this way I wasn’t doing them again after all that so they were going to fit no matter what, ha ha.

I do love this effect though, if it wasn’t for all those ends I would consider making a large gingham blanket.

Thank you for reading today, enjoy the rest of your week
