Oh this was an absolute dream to make and really quick to work up as well.
Didn’t have much of a brief when this one was requested other than pale pink, cream, beige boho feel.
Ordered some Emu yarn from The Knitting Network and looked through my endless patterns. As I’ve never done waffle stitch before I thought I’d give it a go.
So glad I did it’s turned out better than I’d hoped it would.
Didn’t realise that the waffle pulls the piece in though if I had I would’ve carried on in length but it does stretch loads and is perfect for pram, carry cot etc.
Soooo soft and squishy and ready for the new arrival to the world. Pattern by Sirins Crochet.
After recently adding a new puppy to my collection of schnauzers and posting numerous pictures on line of him. My changing tides blanket by coastal crochet got spotted and requested to be made.
Jumping at the chance to make this beautiful blanket again I reached for my laptop and ordered the yarn. Same colour palette but different shades.
I love how these colours pop on this blanket, I didn’t want to hand it over when it was time too.
It will certainly keep its new owner warm over the coming cold months ahead plus add some much needed beach and sea colours for that vitamin D injection.
You may remember me making Jack this time last year? I made him for a friend who unfortunately passed away before I could gift him to her.
Well someone saw him on a post and asked if I could make him and his ghost dog Zero. So I quickly fashioned something to resemble Zero, frogged it changed it and ended up with this which I don’t think turned out too bad.
Hello everyone, apologies I’ve been very quiet of late but I have been busy crocheting so about to spam you from makes over the summer. New full time job and puppy have taken over a bit so I fell behind on my blogs.
I completed another Baby Pandemonium Blanket from all thinks crochet I do love this pattern as you know from previous blogs.
I kept this one simple in the colours of now, grey and white, sparkly baby yarn from BnM and it’s beautiful in just the two colours.
This was an order that I could never get back hold of once it was complete, isn’t that the most annoying thing? Oh well someone’s loss is someone’s gain.
Hello all, I bet you’re wondering where I’ve been? Well weeks 7&8 took me quite a while to complete, as you’ll see it’s huge, and I’ve been quite busy with other things recently so been unable to spend as much time on it as I would’ve liked too.
I can’t believe it’s done, those rounds for the border felt like I was never going to finish, but last night I did.
What do you think?
Of course I couldn’t take any decent pictures without the schnauzers getting in on the act. I have a feeling they will be using it more than me. I cannot wait to go camping and fight them for it.
Thank you Eleonora at Coastal Crochet for this amazing pattern and sharing it with the world. There have been so many people crocheting along together on it this year from all around the world with some amazing colours in some fantastic settings.
What a wonderful journey out of lockdown.
Take care everyone, see you all soon and thank you for reading.
Good morning I hope you’re having a great long weekend so far? At early hours this morning I finally finished my Easter Lap Blanket, just in time, couldn’t finish a Easter blanket after the event had gone could I? What do you think?
I love the colours and the textures of the different stitches together. The kit was from The Knitting Network using my favourite Style craft special DK yarn and the pattern was a women’s weekly one.
It was hard going and took a while, especially that border, 11 rounds PHEW, I never thought I would finish it.
Thank you for reading and enjoy the rest of the weekend and don’t eat too much chocolate ha ha.
Happy Saturday hope you’re all well and safe? That’s another week done and how much fun was this , creating Sand Castles, kites and shells. Three key things on the beach right? Can you see them? was a fiddly week but well worth it.
I think I can figure out what’s coming up next week, can you? If I’m right then OMG all those ends x 4 *sigh*
Even so I cannot wait, roll on Friday, we seem to flying through it this year which is good as I am so looking forward to finishing and getting it ready for camping trips as soon as we can again.
I hope you are enjoying the journey as much as me, thank you for reading, enjoy your weekend. Take care, Marie x x x
Evening all, I was late starting this weeks instalment. Had emergency vet trips all weekend so didn’t get chance to print off the pattern until Sunday to make a start. Doggie is all well and on the mend now, thankfully, in case you were wondering.
So week 3 is all about picnic food and who would have thought you could create food with yarn in a blanket. Thank you Coastal Crochet you really do excel every year. We have apples, blackberries and cupcakes, can you see them?
Absolutely loved creating this weeks delicious delights, doesn’t it look fabulous? Roll on Friday for week 4 can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next.
Hello and Happy Mother’s Day, hope all you mums out here are being deservedly spoilt. I’ve had a busy time of it recently as you have probably noticed with all my blog spam (sorry not sorry.
There is no better feeling than when someone reaches out to you after seeing your work online and being asked to make them something. Especially when you read “I have seen your work online and know you are the one to make me what I want” After smiling upon reading this you do take a moment to think oh no what do they want? Ha ha
This one however I couldn’t wait to start it. I ordered the yarn straight away and eagerly anticipated it’s arrival and always The Knitting Network did not disappoint.
I have never worked with flutterby yarn before but as soon as I felt it I immediately knew why it was used for the puffin. My goodness its so soft, not great to work with though (black ugh). On the black sections of the pattern I couldn’t see the stitches most of the time I had to feel my way with the hook.
Pattern by Olives Toy Box and was super easy to follow. Scheepjes Catona cotton James C Brett Flutterby Chunky with a 3 / 4mm hook used.
This beautiful comforter will be on it’s way to it’s new home soon to await the arrival of it’s new forever friend.
I hope you have enjoyed reading today, take care and enjoy the rest of your day whatever you are doing and I will be back with you soon.
